Florida Keys flats fishing guide Captain Chris Wells is the owner of Tailing Charters. He grew up in Colorado where he started fly fishing at the age of five. He graduated from The Metropolitan State University of Denver with degrees in Communications and Business Management. Since then, he has shared his passion and obsession of fly fishing with others by guiding. Captain Chris Wells has been a professional full-time fly fishing guide for eighteen years.
Captain Chris Wells is a licensed and certified U.S. Coast Guard Captain. He guides in the Lower Florida Keys from February through June and in Colorado from July through December. Chris spends the remaining time hosting anglers to international fly-fishing destinations and speaking at seminars. He has been a keynote speaker for groups including The International Sportsmen's Exposition, Trout Unlimited, The Federation of Fly Fishers, and Colorado Women Fly-Fishers.
